Hey,
Anyone heard of the possibility of Nextel introducing a Nextel/Palm
combo phone in addition to the blackberry lineup? I currently have
three devices (nextel phone, palm, blackberry pager) and would like
only one. The blackberry model that palm offers looks nice but: a. I
really like Palm's power and functionality; and B) blackberry won't
sync with a Macintosh.
I would think a Palm-based phone from Nextel with a QWERTY keyboard
would be a big hit.
Anyone hear anything? Is it "never going to happen" because of
nextel's offering of blackberry items?
Thanks,
Damon

Yep, although I hear it will probably be released late this year. One
interesting thing I have heard- there may be a bluetooth phone on the market
before then. Certainly not the same as a smartphone, but a nice thing to
have available.

Re: Nextel Palm-Based Phone?
Hmm ... but will any of these be Mac compatible? That is my real
selling point. Trying to consolidate my three items into one. Just
getting the phone and pager into one may be good enough -- I just
didn't want them to release a new Palm Phone after I went and got the
blackberry.
I can only assume that Microsoft PDA's aren't mac compatible.
Although: maybe they should be with the Office X software ... who
knows?

Feel secure with your Blackberry- no plans for a Palm Phone.

Re: Nextel Palm-Based Phone?
I just bought an04 Acura TL which has Bluetooth capability...After 4
contacts in to Nextel & 1 directly to Motorolla...Nextel has
unofficially indicated that they will indeed be releasing some
Bluetooth phones, but no date was available.
When you ask Nextel if they have any phones that are Bluetooth capable
(built in)....they answer with a list of all of the phones that will
work with the JABRA Freespeak which is completely wrong & misleading!
The $179 JABRA Freespeak has an external Bluetooth that plugs in to
the phone and only provide Bluetooth functionality with the earpeice.
Anyway...they say they will have some B-Tooth phones out, they just
don't know when.

Re: Nextel Palm-Based Phone?
You had posted a message to someone to be happy with their Blackberry as
Nextel has no Palm Phones planned, that's all.

Smartphone is not a Palm phone- Palm phones run on the Palm OS, not
Microsoft. Smartphones are a Micorsoft driven product. My statement
stands- Nextel has no plans to offer a Palm phone.

No problem- you had me believing that I done the same for a minute or two.
No harm, no foul.
