I finally got the serial cable for the i730 phone and got it to work
with MapPoint. It usually takes about 2 minutes to find a signal,
which is fine, but after around 60 seconds of working, the phone
deterministically reboots and starts up again, forcing me to set NMEA
Out to ON again and wait another 2 minutes for 60 seconds of NMEA
output.
Is there a solution to this? I scoured this forum and saw a few posts
about it being a software problem but I haven't heard if anyone had a
solution (or if it was the same problem).
Any ideas anyone? I'm going to find a nearby Nextel retailer and ask
them about it; maybe they have a software patch.
Thanks!
Mike

There's a software problem on ALL the new GPS phones. A fix has not been
done as yet but Motorola is promising new software soon. The only units that
are working are the i88's and i58sr's.
Hope this helps.

Re: i730 and GPS: Phone reboots after a minute of NMEA out
How does one update the software? Is there some on-board feature that
will do this? Can I do it with a USB cable? Or should I just head over
to a Nextel store and have them do it? Please advise.
