I have an i730 Nextel phone for work. I want to turn off my voicemail
capability where a caller will just hear a message then it will hang up on
them. Is there a way to configure this phone to just have an out going
message and not dump the caller into the voicemail system? I can't find any
options anywhere.

Re: i730 question...
Check your voicemail options...not in the phone but your voicemail system
itself. From a landline, call
(XXX) XXX-MAIL where the area code and the prefix are the same as your cell
phone number and the last four are MAIL. When you hear your message, press *
then I believe you go into personal options.

I asked my friend that works for Nextel Partners and he says this may work.
Call 611 (prob have to transfer to tech support) and tell them to modify
your SOC code (no clue what that is) to have no voice record time. He has a
couple of phones that have an outgoing message then beep and hangup. Good
luck.
