I have a i90 with both serial and USB cables for the phone. I am having
trouble getting IDEN update application software to make contact with the
phone. Also IDEN CompanionPro is not reading the phone either. What changed?
When the USB is installed when working it would not download the update
phone software. I got a message to stop charging my battery. Well .....the
USB charges the battery when it is plugged in. (This is the reason I picked
    up the serial cable) Help!!!

Re: serial cable / USB help

Mr.B, Iden s/w does not have Usb driver for Win XP, only for Win98 & 2000.
You can use the serial cable with XP.
I upgraded the firmware on my i90 last week from R76.02.01 to R76.02.03. It
took about 3 to 5 min. on the USB cable with Win 2K.
You have to set the paramter for the connection type on the Iden s/w and
make sure your ports are available on the motherboard and usb driver is
    loaded in Windows.
You also need to download the firmware as if you're buying it even those it
    free of charge from Motorola.
    Good luck,
