Hello folks,
I bought a bluetooth handsfree from ebay. It is a decent
handsfree from a taiwanese company called collex
(model BT-201). It works fine when the call is initiated
by the handsfree (yes! voice dialing works fine).
(Problem 1)Now what I noticed is my N-gage (and 3650) do not
disconnect the connection after the call (the phone shows
parenthesis around the bluetooth dot (.)) This drains the
battery fast both on the phone as well as the handsfree.
If I disconnect the handsfree from the phone menu...but
leave the bluetooth on indicated by just the dot . on
the phone), still voice dialing works fine.
(Problem 2)But in-coming calls do not work. The call
never gets transfered to the handsfree.
Incoming calls only work when handfree is connected (.).
Anyone else with similar experience?
Thanks

there is a difference between bluetooth on (showing the dot) and bluetooth
active (.)
you cannot transfer a call to the handsfree if the phone is not actually
connected to the headset!!!

I know that! I have written commercial bluetooth apps
on seriese 60 phones...so I better know that much.

Well, it gets connected when I press the call button on handsfree.
(I never touch the phone....the phone starts showing (.) and
handsfree icon) The call initiates also. But it activates the
microphone and speaker of the phone.
Compare this to the situation where you plug your wired-handfree
to the phone when you get the ring.
I think I am looking at two bugs:
1. Battery drainage when there is NO active call (just connected).
This could be a bug either in the phone or the handsfree. I
am hoping to get a Nokia handsfree...will try with that to confirm.
2. Connection/call transfer failure when connection is attempted
during the incoming call ringing. This looks like phone bug.

Re: Nokia N-gage bluetooth handsfree and battery life
I found if the ringer is OFF, the bluetooth handfree can get the call when
you connect
on in-coming call ringing.
