Can anyone recommend any PC software compatible with the 3510i (preferably
free)?
I've got a data cable, however the Nokia website implys the PC Suite won't
work with it (its not available for download under the 3510i section).
I mainly want to be able to transfer ringtones/graphics to it and to
update/backup the phonebook.
TIA,
Pete

Nokia doesn't make any software for this phone, however there is various
third party software around (not free, though). As the author, I am biased
of course, but take a look at Mobius/PX for phonebook and MobiMB for
ringtones/graphics.

Gammu [see http://www.mwiacek.com] lists 3510 support. It's free.

Re: 3510i PC Software
Did a search and found this thread. Seems best suited to what I'm looking for.
I'm looking mainly to backup my phonebook from my 3510 (not 3510i... if that makes a difference). Now that I know what software to use, what cable should I get that will allow me to do this? I've seen a couple of different ones on the net. I was chatting to a guy in a shop and he said that you can't access the phonebook on a 3510 but I think he mightn't know what he's talking about.
Thanks in advance!

Any data cable designed for your phone should do, as long as your
software supports it (mine does), eg.

You should get F-Bus (i.e. full-duplex) cable, which connects under the
phone battery and to the COM port on PC side. USB cables require virtual COM
port emulation drivers. Most of (but not the all ones) USB cables for this
phone are based on ProLific PL-2303 chipset (you can download its drivers
from http://tech.prolific.com.tw/ or http://www.driverguide.com/ ).
