I'm having huge problems with Bluetooth and the 6230 on Orange,
    firmware 3.17.

When trying to use GPRS over BT the connection will always freeze
after a few seconds, sometimes the phone gives "GPRS modem connection
ended" and sometimes it thinks it's still connected but no data flows.
Sometimes the phone resets itself and sometimes it refuses the BT
connection. Similar problems when copying files to the phone using
Object Transfer, various errors PC end along the lines of "connection
lost", "security error, redo pairing", "could not complete connection"
etc. It takes 20-30 attempts to get a 2mb file across.

Other aspects of the phone are fine, just the usual nags everyone has,
but this BT problem is a really big issue, GPRS over BT is one of the
main reasons I upgraded to the 6230 from my completely flawless 6310i.
Using a Sony Vaio TR1MP and have used the Open Interface and WIDCOMM
Bluetooth software, exactly the same results with both sets of
software. I've also tried using an MSI bluetooth dongle on a different
computer and experience the same problems when transferring files.

Would anyone suggest this is a faulty phone or am I just experiencing
what everyone else is? It seems to be rather serious..

Thanks for any help that can be offered, I'm just about to lose my
    sanity over this.

    Re: 6230 Serious bluetooth problems

I too had a 6230 which had major issues with BT.

I spoke to Orange Data and Fax Customer support and they diagnosed the phone
a faulty. I was issued a brand new one which arrived the next morning.

I have sinced managed to connect to our corporate VPN via GPRS and BT and
also managed to use the PC Suite Content Copier to back up the whole phone.
Things I was unable to achieve previously.

I suggest you ring 156 and get them to ship you a new phone.

    Good luck.

    Re: 6230 Serious bluetooth problems

    Great, many thanks.

I believe they were on the verge of replacing the phone last time I
called them but wanted me to get re-provisioned for GPRS data first,
since then I've managed to establish it's a BT problem and not GPRS
    through further testing.

I'll give them a call and see what they say.
