This is really silly. The picture was taken with the lens apparatus, not the
screen.
I assume the 6600 has an image zoom function which will let you pan around
the image and avoid the dead pixel overlaying any particular spot when
viewing on the camera.

Help 6600 camera
Hello
This may sound like a really silly question: I've had my 6600 for just over
a month now and there is a 'dead pixel' in the middle of the screen - will
this 'dead pixel' show up on a picture taken with the camera when
transferred to my PC?
Thanks

If the dead pixel is on the screen it will not be on the picture when you
transfer it to any other machine other than yours so you can send by MMS
Bluetooth to other phone users and it will not apear on their screens and
also safely send it to your computer (I take it you have no card reader yet
that is why you have not tried it for yourself). but if you get on to your
provider they should replace the phone.

For what ever reason,

Yes it does. The screen has nothing to do with the camera lens.
Your photo's should be fine.

Re: Help 6600 camera
This is really silly. Zooming in doesn't achieve what you're suggesting.

Did you pan as suggested?

Yes. Still the pixel remains.

What Pete is asking is, does the dead pixel move as you pan the picture if
it stays still it will prove to you that the fault is with the screen and
the picture is ok.

It's naturally not going to do anything about the screen, but it will
demonstrate that the picture is unaffected as the pixel will obscure a
smaller part of the picture when zoomed, and the panning will move the
picture around the pixel.
