6100 - muted ring tone?

anyone able to help with my 6100 please? The ringing seems to have muted
itself and now when receiving a call it does not ring externally. It
vibrates but just does not make a sound. I can hear it ringing if I connect
the hands free kit through the earphone. The key pad tones are working so
it's not the speaker. It just seems to have muted the ring tones for some
reason and I can't find a setting to undo it. This occurred when I
connected and disconnected the hands free kit but no amount of reconnecting
has cured it. It's like in the 'James Bond' trick where you short pins to
stop it ringing but I have not done this. Any ideas would be greatly
appreciated - thanks.

phone is broken, take for repair by the sounds of it

if it is like my 6230 there is 2 speakers

1 which you use to hear the conversation when in a call

another that does the ringing and also speakerphone
