probably because it takes an age for some peoples phones to connect with
software via cable, or not at all
oxygen phone manager is better personally.

I'm not the OP, but I'll gladly note a few limitations that make it
less than perfect for me. Who knows? Maybe a Nokia exec will read
    this & take note...:-)

First, PCSuite may nicely sync with Outlook & a limited number of
other address book apps. But why won't it import from pure text & csv
files? It's not that hard, I write that kind of application myself
all the time. If I knew the phonebook format, I'd write my own, but
then I'd need an ICD for phone communication which I'm sure Nokia
won't let out of their tight little paws...

Second, there's a growing number of people who eschew Microquack
software in all forms. Like, me - I like Linux, other people like
_BSD, & there are even a few Mac users still out there... It's not
that difficult to write apps that operate across platforms; again, I
write that kind of app myself all the time.

Third, Nokia caved in to dorky Verizon & PC suite [or is it
"suet"...:-] won't upload "content" to my 3589i because dorky Verizon
income grubbing little small-dick dweeby executives want me to spend
yet more money for their stupid "get it now" crapola. Like, no!
Idiots! So I spend a whopping $20 or so for MobiMP, which works ok,
but I have to "dirty" my hands using Winblows [...ewwwwwww...] on my
    wife's laptop.

So far I haven't gotten gnokii to work with my CDMA 3589i, & I've used
gammu to backup data from the phone but I haven't tried using it to
    uploading my phonebook yet.

    So, there ya have it.

    Re: NOKIA PC-suite SUCKS

I just got a 3620, and have had no luck so far. Part of it may be the
Kensington USB Bluetooth widget (the computer refuses to boot when the thing
is connected, so I am returning it). I could get the computer to ask the
phone for a connection, but the connection never seemed to establish. Any
suggestions as to how to get this thing rolling? Is there another newgroup
or website that would be helpful?

    Re: NOKIA PC-suite SUCKS

I use it OK to sync to my 6670 with bluetooth and to backup data.
But impossible to send SMS ( phone not detected ! altough all other
functions detect it very well : so not even coherent behaviour of sub-apps
    in their suite)
Also impossible to correctly transfer some data from OE or Outlook such as
altrenative email adresses ( only first, default one gets transmitted). etc.

I am looking for a really better alternative, since PC suite is very far
    from being satisfactory !
Until now haven't got a single answer per mail from Nokia support.
