It's not possible to do it yourself. You must take the phone to a Nokia
service center or a Nokia partner. I recently updated my 6680 with the
latest firmware and they did it within one hour for free.

Service Centre. To find your local service centre, call 01480 434343, or
check out www.nokia.co.uk

As another "poster" mentioned, it should take no longer than an hour, if
they have on-site service (Level 2 service point, I believe)

Nope, not an option.

Whilst under warranty that option is free.

Alternatively, if you want to do it yourself you'll have to invest in some
decent kit (not really worth it unless you're going to be doing a few
phones). Have a look at the GSM-Solutions site in my sig for an idea of
costs involved in buying the right kit.
