I have a Nokia 6225 and sync the contacts with Outlook on my laptop via
Nokia PC Suite. This has always been pretty trouble free. As I only do this
occasionally I would like to be able to stop the PC Suite from launching in
the background when the laptop (Win XP SP2) boots, and only run it when I
want to do a sync. I have looked through the help files and cannot find
anything about this. Is this a feasible idea please, and how would I go
    about it? Thanks heaps.

    Re: Closing Nokia PC Suite

Me again - I think I sussed it. I used msconfig, and disabled the two
entries that launch the PC Suite and the tray icon. I can now confirm that
it was causing the laptop to hang often when shutting down. It seems to be
behaving itself, and I can launch it as needed and close it afterwards.

So problem seems solved. Just thought I would post this in case anyone else
wants to do the same thing or strikes the same issue with XP hanging on
    shutdown.

    Merry Christmas.

PC Suite is such an abomination (and Oxygen just sucks differently) that I
gave up entirely on bothering to sync up the phones anymore.
