iI have a Nokia 5140i mobile.

I used Nokia multimedia converter to convert wav and mp3 files to *.amr

    They worked fine.

I uploaded (WAP) to my phone. Work fine.

I noticed however that the file names have a file ext. as .txt

    Showing as text files (*.txt)

I then cannot use these as ringtones or alerts as the phone only recognises
    them as text files?

    ANy solutions?

    If you using Windows then:

Go into the folder where your ringtones are.
    Click "Tools" then "Folder Options..."

    Click the "View" Tab.
UNCHECK "Hide Extensions for known file types"

Now simply rename your ringtone to "myringtone.amr"
