S60 3rd edition firmware for 6600 ?

I hope someone can shed some light on this. What is the latest firmware
revision for the Nokia 6600 ? Is it still 1st edition S60 or are there
later editions available for that hardware ?

Hi Leo,

You can't change OS or developer platform version, all you can do is to get
latest firmware version:

Developer Platform:
Series 60 Developer Platform 2.0

BTW:
In short, you can't update firmware by yourself, I mean you can but you
have to buy special flashing equipment and mentioned equipment is just to
expensive for personal purpose, to learn more about flashing chk out below

You don't know if there is anywhere you can have a look at the release
notes for Nokia Firmware releases ?

I checked Google but nothing of use.

Actually Nokia doesn't release anymore the changes between first and
new version of their firmware. No ones know why.

The latest firmware for Nokia 6600 is 5.53. I had the V 3.4.2 &
updraded in augustus for the 5.53. I've noticed these changes after the
updrade :

- My phone start far more quikly.

- SMS sending problem fixed. With 3.4.2, if I was using special
characters like " ' é €... my nokia was sending the SMS in 2 parts. Now
it send it in 1 part even if I use special characters.

- I had some bugs who are now all fixed.
