Anyone know if it's possible to unlock an N70 that's locked to
    Vodafone?

Is this series of phone likely to be difficult or impossible to unlock?

    Re: N70 unlock

The guy in the Vodafone shop tells me they can't unlock it (he said
'yet') - he offered to swop it for another 'phone which they can unlock.

It's not a matter of can't, most of the carriers REFUSE to unlock the
phones! The just bull**** saying it can't be done.

It only costs £20 to get it unlocked from vodafone. I would rather pay
that than pay someone on the street £10 to unlock a £400 phone with
    no guarantees.

Do you reckon that Vodafone can definitely do it?

The guy in the Vodafone shop said they couldn't, but he happily offered
to swop the phone for another which he could unlock for me.

I think the original poster meant he could get a different brand of
    phone, ie not Nokia.

Probably like 3 here in Australia they straight out say the Nokia 6680
(maybe the N70 too?) can NOT be unlocked. They should stop bull****ting
and tell the truth, they will NOT unlock the phone!

He was offering another Nokia, ie 6230, which I know can be easily
    unlocked (I've done one).

I doubt you could fairly compare those two phones because of the 6230
age and being a series 40 phone! The 6230 is a good phone although has
    been superseded by the 6230i.
