My provider (MetroPCS) doesn't offer internet access and I have seen a
few instructions of changing the default proxy server on my phone
(Nokia 6255i).

I have setup my phone with mycellconnect.com's proxy with no success.

Does anyone know what changes have to be made in order to use the web
on my phone?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
