I have a 3310 which I have recently acquired but unfortunately is
completely dead. It will not power up and there is no charge
indication. I have checked all the obvious possible problems (battery,
battery contacts , tarnish on PCB etc). There is no obvious sign of
water damage. The battery is also receiving a charge despite no LCD
    indication.

I guess its either a corrupted Eeprom or a component hardware fault.

I was planning on running the fault diagnostic on B-phreaks Eeprom Tool
which I have read about but never previously used. Does anybody know if
you actually need to be able to switch on the phone to be able to use
this Eeprom Tool? Any other thoughts on the 3310 fault ?

    Thanks

Blimey! I remember (vaguely) using eeprom tools years ago on DCT3 handsets.
From memory, I believe you do need to be able to power the phone up. You
may have more success using a more up to date solution such as UFS or JAF,
but it's an expensive option for just that one phone.
