    Hi,

I dropped my Nokia 6600 on the floor and now the light in the display is
gone. It is very difficult to use the phone without the light :-(

The blue light in the keypad is working fine.

How does the LCD light work? Can it be fixed, or will I have to buy a
    new display for it?

    Thanks in advance!

    Martin

It's probably a broken track on the circuit board. It's been a long time
since I stripped a 6600 but from memory the LEDs are part of the UI module
and not the screen assembly, so if that is the case, you'd need to repair
the track and a replacement screen wouldn't help.

When I look at the display unit, it has a silver back. It is hard to
imagine any light shining through, so that's why I assumed the light
must be part of the display/screen unit.

But I might be wrong. Is it possible to tell by looking at it?
