Hi all. Long time reader, first time poster.

I purchase a Nokia 6131 phone from ebay which is locked to T-Mobile. I was
wondering about unlocking the phone to be used with 02UK.

I have taken the phone to various shops who had the phone for a few hours
each, only to be told 'no'. I then got in contact with T-Mobile who say they
will unlock the phone for £15 but this could take 28 days, maybe longer. I
read in a previous post that they usually send this after about 7 days. This
i not what is troubling me. When I left my phone in to one of the shops they
tried to input a code and now I appear to be 'locked out' and ave read on
many web sites that I will need a cable to do the unlocking. Does this mean
that even if T-Mobile sent me out the code, I could not input it anyway? The
phone says that it cannot be unlocked if I try and put a code in myself.

Hope they haven't messed it up on me!

Hope someone can shed some light on this for me.

Many thanks for any replies and help provided.
    Scott

There is a link to a site that unlocks Nokia phones on this post.

    It may help out.

    Re: Unlocking a 6131 from T-Mobile

    Thanks.

Unfortunately because my phone is what they call 'BB5' it can't be done yet.
It can only be done using a code from the service provider that the phone is
    locked to.

What I wanted to know was can I still buy this code from them (£15 - not
bad) and enter it to get my phone unlocked. Because someone else tried to do
it I hope that the phone can still be unlocked. I read somewhere that only
so many attempts can be made, otherwise it can only be done with a cable
    attached.
