I have a problem with my Nokia 6610 and Belkin IrDA Smartbeam USB-adapter. I can't
get it to connect.
I have the IrDA in System Device managaer under USB-devices and I have the
apropriate drivers installed. I've switched Ir to active on the phone.
Isn't xp suppose to find a ir-device as soon as it is swiched on?
If I try foe example Logomanager i sais that it can't find the driver. If I try
Nokia PC suit it sais that I should check my media settings.
I've tried the Ir on other computer, same thing. I've tried the phone with other
ir-devices (palm pilot) and it works just fine.
I've talked to the support on Belkin and they can't figure it out. I've returned it
to the palce were I bought it and they connected it to a laptop and it worked.
Don't know were to go from here, any clues anyone?

do the other devices work on your computer with the IR?
when you activate IR on the phone, it should be picked up within 5 seconds,
seeing you have XP, a little box will appear in the system tray near the
clock informing you 'New hardware found' the first time it detects, or
'Another computer is nearby (Click here to send files to the Nokia 6610)'
after Windows sets itself up with the correct drivers.
Have you installed the drivers on the disk that came with the Smartbeam? I
got one last week, plugged it in, had to meddle with the disk as my PC
doesnt have a floppy drive, laptop does though, all is good, and worked
immediately after a reboot.
