    I have a Nokia 3590 which I use with AT&T service. I have the
Keyguard set to turn on after thirty seconds. When I put the
telephone in its case, I turn on the Keyguard manually if it has not
already gone into it. The other day, I had been editing some
entries in my phonebook. I turned on the Keyguard when I was done
and put the phone back into the case. I received an SMS notice and
took the phone out of the case to check because I was following
several EBay items on which I had bids. Messages would be sent to
my telephone if I were outbid. When I looked at the telephone to
turn off the Keyguard, the telephone was displaying the phonebook
name list. I thought perhaps I had forgot to exit from the
phonebook before putting the telephone back into the case. When I
exited the phonebook, the lock symbol was on the screen but the keys
were not locked. I could not lock the keys nor disable the lock
symbol on the screen. I had to turn the telephone off and remove
the battery to get working correctly.

This is similar to an earlier problem when none of the keys worked.
I used the same remedy that time.

If it happens again you may be dealing with a software defect. If so i
would reccomend that you contact your provider for a warrenty exchange
