Not on a 6310i, but my old 7110 did. How tight is the battery?
You might try a small bit of double sided tape on the very top of the
battery
to keep it firmly in place (the 7110 & 6310i have identical battery
securing devices)

Does the phone require you to key in the PIN again (provided you haven't
deactivted this feature)?
If so, it might be a problem with the battery, i.e. the clearance between
the battery and the phone might be too large. I know that from my old 6150
where the battery had so much clearance that the phone sounded like a
Spanish castanet when you shook it lightly. :-)
If not, it might be a problem that only a Nokia Dissservice Centre might be
able to solve (firmware, hardware?).
Kind regards,
Olaf

My 6210 used to do this, and a couple of small pads were fitted
between the battery and the phone. When I got my 6310is (2) one of
them had the pad already and the other didn't so when the latter was
upgraded to V5.5 I had them fit the pad as well.
You could just stick a bit of credit card thick plastic between or
take it to Nokia Service centre to have the pads fitted.

I have a similar problem when the phone is connected to my Nokia car
kit. I cannot put my finger on the exact sequence that causes the
off/on. My firmware version is 5.22 (the newest one is 5.5 AFAIK), so
maybe upgrading will solve the problem. My cellular carrier claims
complete ignorance of such a problem :-(

I am experiencing a similar case - when phone is in the car kit
(original Nokia), and in the middle of a call (or switching to a
waiting call), it switches itself off and on. Needless to say, all
ongoing calls are disconnected.
My cellular operator (Cellcom, Israel) claims that they're unfamiliar
with this problem, but my firmware version is 5.22 while the newest
one, AFAIK, is 5.5. When I have time to upgrade, I'll post a followup
whether the problem persists
