I'm trying to unlock an T-Mobile 8310 using the DCT4 calculator (v2.1) as
the phone displays "Phone restricted" when I put an O2 sim card into it.

I enter the phone's IMEI number, select "other models", select "United
Kingdom", select "T-Mobile / One 2 One" and press calculate.

I key in code one exactly as the calculator displays but I get "Code error"
from the phone. Tried code seven also and get the same error. I don't want
to keep trying as I've only 3 attempts remaining (AFAIK).

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks for any assistance.

    Phil.

    8310 IS DCT4, not DCT3.

No he doesn't, the normal DCT4 calculators should work fine.

8310 is DCT4 (FOUR). Whoever says otherwise will be shot in his/her arse.

The only other thing I'd suggest is getting it unlocked using a cable
solution, but you'll probably find it cheaper to either find a local phone
shop (that you'd trust with your phone) to do the job, or ourselves or one
of the other regular posters could do the job in minutes.

Read the files in the dct4 download package
T-Mobile and Virgin close MCC+MNC and GD1 so therefore use Code Line 5!

The way I understood it was that T-Mobile only close lock 1, therefore use
lock 1 (Orange use 1+2 therefore 5), Virgin do something bizarre and require
you to use the second program which displays three codes that you have to
    enter in sequence...
