    Hi ppl,

    Here's my prob:

I just recently got a Nokia 5100, and I sometimes use it via infrared to get
on the 'net (thru GPRS) with my laptop - that works fine.

I've also got here the Nokia 'PC Suite', tho' that's uninstalled at the
    moment.

    Here's why...

If I install PC Suite on the laptop (XP) it works fine, but when it is
    installed
I can't connect to the 'net via the phone/laptop as PC Suite is using the
    phone's
modem (according to the error msg, which seems right to me).

What I'd like to know is a way to easily - without ininstalling it - disable
PC Suite's use of the modem when I want 'net access.

Any Clues as to how to achieve this would be muchly welcome.

    Cheers and TIA,

    Rogi.

Closing the phone apps in the system tray?

No, I tried that, and also tried shutting down the various processes of PC
Suite, one by one, using task manager - still no joy. :-(

    Cheers tho'.

Great. I was only guessing, not used this phone.

every little piece of software wants complete control. there seems no way to
shut off my 3650 once it has 'seen' my PC - can only move it and wait 15
seconds while windows waits for a reconnect.

the 3650 also insists on being the only IR device - if I connect my PDA by
IR then my 3650, the PC seems to forget the PDA in favour of the 3650 being
the only connection. that's no proof though, according to my PC my CRT
monitor is an IR device :-)
