Hi,
I just got my new Nokia 6600 and tried to configure WAP and MMS access
to T-Mobile US service. Unfortunately, I can't find where to enter WAP
gateway information when setting up a new access point. Setting data
bearer to GPRS does not make the gateway field visible event though
the help functionality talks about setting the gateway IP address.
Advanced settings has phone's own IP, DNS and proxy server address
information.
I also went to http://www.nokiausa.com/support/settings/ and requested
settings for a Nokia 3650, figuring it's the closest phone to 6600.
The configuration message had all the correct info but the phone
imported everthing other than the gateway IP adress.
I also noticed that Connection Security and Session Mode fields in
access point properties are not shown when you create a new access
point but the phone will import and display the fields from a
configuration message.
Needless to say, I can't connect to T-Mobile's WAP site or send MMS
messages, though I have regular TCP/IP Internet connectivity; I can
browse the we using the bundled Opera browser.
The software version on the phone after checking *#0000# is:
V3.42.1
16/10/2003
NHL-10
Any help/ideas?

Re: Setting WAP gateway on Nokia 6600
So did you acquire the 6600 in the U.S. as well? If so, where? Assuming
that T-Mobile was the provider...
Or did you just bring it over from Europe and are trying to get the data
side working?

Re: Setting WAP gateway on Nokia 6600
You have the very same software release as me.
Can you try to add a voice tag to a contact and tell me if you get a
"Voice System Error?"
Cheers.
