I use an Orange SIM and occasionally use it in my unlocked work phone which
is a 6310i. When I use this SIM I get 2 little symbols that appear in the
top left of the display. One looks very similar to the 'car' setting you
get when the phone is in my car kit and the other looks like an '@' symbol.

When I use it with my work o2 SIM they are not there and I therefore guess
it's a setting on my Orange SIM. Niothing unusual seems to be happening and
it only occurs when I use the SIM in a Nokia handset. It's not the phone as
it also happens on a different 6310 I tried.

It's also driving me nuts as I don't know what they are for - can anyone
help and also tell me how to disable them?

    Cheers

What you describe kind of sounds like the voicemail sign, well similar in a
way, try dialing 123 and checking if you have any voicemail, i may be
    completely wrong but worth ago.

No it's certainly not voicemail as I know what that looks like. I have been
told it may be that someone has tried to send me either a text and/or email.
How the hell can I get rid of them?

    Cheers.

    To fix:

Just use a different (2nd) SIM in the problematic phone. Then put the
original (1st) SIM back and use as normal. This is a nokia 'virus' created
    using high-bit corrupt sms via........logomanager i think?

I do that anyway as a matter of course as the phone is used with my 02 SIM
during the day for work and then Orange outside of that. The symbols only
appear when the Orange SIM is inserted.

I have no idea how I can fix it.
