Does the MMC have to be a special Nokia one, or can you just buy a
generic one? No-one I have asked knows, and I do not want to fork out
the money for an MMC that I can not use. I have been to a number of
different mobile shops to find the Nokia ones, but no-one has them, or
any idea about them.
For a key part to the running of the phone there is not much information
about it.

regular MMC works, I am using a kingston 128MB card that's only 1/2 of the
price of Nokia 128MB and they are exactly the same , however I remember
reading somewhere in the pdf manual says only 32 64 or 128MB MMC cards will
work with MP3 player.
But there are some folks claimed that their generic card doesn't work for
them, so I
guess it's safer to bring the phone with you when you shop for a card, or
check around
and see what works.

Thanks... I was about to walk out the door to go to the shops, and I
thought... "I will just check one more time for a reply..." and, yay, it
was here.
I was planning on taking my phone anyway... I kinda suspected from bits
that I have read here and there that you could use any card, but I just
wanted to be sure.
Just once I would like to buy something that is fully functional off the
shelf... it is rather disappointing to have a new toy to play with only
to come home and find that you can not actually do anything with it
because it does almost nothing without you forking over a heap more
money... :\

Re: N-Gage MMC question
I have another question... for the purpose of hooking the N-Gage up to
the computer, does it treat a games cartridge the same as a normal MMC?
That is to say: Can you store additional information on it? Is it
enough for it to see be link the phone to the computer with USB?

I don't have a game card yet but I am pretty sure all the game cards
are locked up internally, meaning you can't store nor erease additional
data on it, the game deck is made to not letting you access the game
data via USB or bluetooth with a PC, but I think a regular external PC
card reader can read the data.
