Well I just purchased a used nokia 3310. I put my Provider's SIM card. The
guy who sold me the phone have used it with a different provider. The
problem is that I am not getting any signal. When I do a manual search of
the network it shows me two of them but when I select them it says "access
    dinied".

I thought that my phone was locked so I decided to read some information on
how to unlock phones the last 6 hours. In order to see if it was locked I
    did:

    #pw+1234567890+1#
    #pw+1234567890+2#
    #pw+1234567890+3#
    #pw+1234567890+4#

The result on each case was the same message: "SIM not Restricted". Besides
that I know that this is DCT3 phone.

But I really do not understand what is going on.!?!

Well if you phone accepts the SIM it's not locked, it's either faulty or
    blocked.

Probably stolen or reported lost. Do you know who you bought it from..? If
so it's down to them, if not you're stuffed.

Well, yes I know who I bought the phone from. I bought it on ebay (france).
I have the guy's home phone number, cellphone number and his address. he
told me he used the phone without any inconvenient with the provider called
ORANGE but I am with SFR here in France. So what I am going to do today is
try the phone with my girlfriend' sim card because she is in ORANGE. If it
doesnt work then it is the phone and I will return it to him.

That's a new word for me! "Blocked". I didnt know a phone could be
"blocked". I thought that a phone could be locked. So what "blocked" means?
is there something I can do if it is the case?

Blocked means that the phone has been blacklisted as lost or stolen. I
believe that France uses the CEIR blacklist (but could be wrong) and if this
is that case and the handset has been blacklisted on one network, it will
also be unusable on any of the others.

Re: I have been trying to unlock my Nokia 3310 for many hours....

Well I just tried what I said. I put my girlfriend's sim in my nokia 3310
and I turned it on!!!! Surprise!! I instantly got the signal without any
problem from the provider called ORANGE. With this test I know now that my
cellphone is not physically damaged. I could even call without any problem.
But when I put my SIM card back into my phone (my provider is called SFR) I
wasnt able to get any signal again. When I do a manual search of the
networks, I get the list of them but when I try to select them it says NO
    ACCESS.

So it seems that my phone is definetely locked in some way with the other
provider (ORANGE) but like I said before when I try to figure how my phone
    is locked by writing:

    #PW+1234567890+1#
    #PW+1234567890+2#
    #PW+1234567890+3#
    #PW+1234567890+4#

In every case I get the message: "SIM not Restricted". I never get "Code
    Error" or something like that.

So i really dont know what I can do since I am sure now that my phone is not
damaged at all and it must be some kind of "invisible lock" :-(

Is your SIM still OK ? I mean, if it's prepaid, is your line still active ?
Et maintenant en français : si tu es en prépayé (donc SFR "la carte"),
est-ce que tu as encore une ligne valide ? J'ai exactement le même
comportement avec des SIM Bouygues que j'ai ici "pour essais" qui ne sont
    plus valides.

You really need an Mbus cable, Rolis Nok Tool 1.8 or some other software
that will remove the locks from your phone.

Re: I have been trying to unlock my Nokia 3310 for many hours....

J'ai un contrat de 1 an avec ligne fixe (pas a la carte). On m'a installer

Re: I have been trying to unlock my Nokia 3310 for many hours....

looks like mine, but make sure first becuase there is other FBUS cable as
    well.

I have a switchable one Mbus/Fbus so all the programs work on it.

Then theres the Nokia Data cable...so check for MBus first.....

tip...dont bother with FBus or Nokia Datacable...stick with Mbus

    xmas cheers

Re: I have been trying to unlock my Nokia 3310 for many hours....

    Salut,

    voir

Si ça peut t'aider, le 3510i de mon frère était bloqué avec le code 1. Le
mieux que tu puisses faire, mis à part demander gentiment les codes à
Orange, ce serait d'acheter un câble et de le débloquer avec un soft comme
    Nokia Tools.
