ring cust. service, ask for the data section, and get them to send the
settings over.

Re: Vodafone Access Points (GPRS & PXT) For Nokia 6600 Australia
Hi Mark,
Tried that just after I posted. They sms-ed me a pxt and gprs setting sms
for the 7650. Saved those and then tried without any luck. They don;t
oficially support the 6600 yet but say it does work.

Re: Vodafone Access Points (GPRS & PXT) For Nokia 6600 Australia
They sent the same files to me and they work after editing the setup. Bellow
are the details. Good luck !
MMS settings
a.. Press the menu key
b.. From the main Nokia menu, go to Tools,
c.. Then Settings,
d.. Then Connections
e.. And then Access points
f.. Select the correct Vodafone Live connection which contains the MMS
settings
There will be two Vodafone Live! Access point options, the upper one
should contain the MMS settings (this can be checked within the settings by
going to the homepage setting and ensuring this shows as
http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms).
g.. Highlight the first Vodafone Live! Access point and select this using
the joystick.
h.. Then select Options and Advanced Settings.
Now ensure the following configuration:
Phone IP address:
automatic
Primary name server:
0.0.0.0
Second name server:
0.0.0.0
Proxy serv. address:
212.183.137.12
(as the Nokia's default is "alpha" mode, the user will need to select
"numeric" mode by pressing and holding the hash key - the indicator at the
top right of the screen will then change from abc to 123. To insert the "."
character simply use the hash key in "numeric" mode)
Proxy port number:
8799
Please Note: It is recommended that the Connection name is changed from
Vodafone Live! to Vodafone MMS so it is clear to the user which settings the
profile relates to. This can be done by highlighting and then selecting the
Connection name using the joystick. The connection name should then be
highlighted. At this stage hit options, then change. Edit from Vodafone
Live! to Vodafone MMS. Once complete select this using the joystick. Hit
back and you will return to the Access Points menu.
GPRS/WAP settings
Once completed you will need to amend the GPRS/WAP settings. If the user has
not renamed the Vodafone Live! access point name, this should be presented
as the lower Vodafone Live! option within the Access point menu.
If the user has renamed the Vodafone Live! access point name to Vodafone MMS
the GPRS/WAP settings will be presented as the upper option within the
Access points menu as Vodafone Live! (this can be checked within the
settings by going to the homepage setting and ensuring this shows as
http://live.vodafone.com )
a.. Highlight the Vodafone Live! Access point and select this using the
joystick.
b.. Then select Options and Advanced Settings.
Phone IP address:
automatic
Primary name server:
0.0.0.0
Second name server:
0.0.0.0
Proxy serv. address:
212.183.137.12
(as the Nokia's default is "alpha" mode, the user will need to select
"numeric" mode by pressing and holding the hash key - the indicator at the
top right of the screen will then change from abc to 123. To insert the "."
character simply use the hash key in "numeric" mode)
Proxy port number:
8799
a.. Once changed hit back to return to the normal settings.
Please Note: It is recommended that the Connection name is changed from
Vodafone Live! to Vodafone GPRS so it is clear to the user which settings
the profile relates to. This can be done by highlighting and then selecting
the Access point using the joystick. The connection name should then be
highlighted. At this stage hit options, then change. Edit from Vodafone
Live! to Vodafone GPRS. Once complete select this using the joystick. Hit
back and you will return to the Access Points menu.

Re: Vodafone Access Points (GPRS & PXT) For Nokia 6600 Australia
My settings [5100]
Not sure how to get to relevant menus on 6600.
If connection names don't exist, make them. Then select them as Active
Service Settings.
Services / Settings / Active Service Settings / "Vodafone Live"
Homepage: http://live.vodafone.com/
Session mode: Permanent
Connection Security: Off
Data Bearer: GPRS
GPRS Access Point: live.vodafone.com
IP address: 10.202.2.60
Authentication type: Normal
Login type: Automatic
Username: Leave blank
Password: Leave blank
Messages / Message Settings / Multimedia Messages / Connection Settings /
"Vodafone PXT"
Homepage: http://pxt.vodafone.net.au/pxtsend
Sess: Permanent
Bearer: GPRS
GPRS Access Point: live.vodafone.com
IP: 10.202.2.60
Authent: Normal
User/Pass: Also leave blank
Give that a whirl and see what happens. VFLIVE is pretty pathetic anyway,
but the GPRS works for MMS and Java apps, etc.
