November 24, you may change cellular providers and take your telephone number
with you.
This FAQ is in no way authored by Sprint Spectrum, Sprint or Sprint PCS unless
otherwise expressly noted. By reading on, you agree that you are fully aware of
this. I see many questions asked repeatedly about problems with phones, and
thought an "Unofficial WLNP FAQ" was in order. I have no association (i.e.
never been employed or received any remuneration) with SprintPCS and there is a
greater than zero chance there may be errors herein. I believe everything to be
correct, but use the information at your own risk. This FAQ comes not from
SprintPCS, so it is unofficial, but apparently has useful information some
SprintPCS apologists are upset about being made public.
The Associated Press wrote a series of questions and answers about the number
portability that takes effect on November 24, allowing you to keep your cell
phone number if you switch carriers. It is likely less biased than any such
statements made by any single wireless carrier.

Each carrier has its own site explaining portability in terms of
Switching to itself. Click on the link for the carrier yoiu wish to switch to.

There are problems listed about phones on the T-Mobile group, yet I
don't see you posting there about leaving T-Mobile.
(Q2 of 2004 is "real soon now"??)

And just what was it that I contributed to this FAQ Phillipe? One more
thing, who says anyone is upset? You sure like to put false statements, lies
and innuendo in your posts ... don't you?

Re: HOW TO LEAVE SPRINTPCS
Rob,
Is there a setting you can make in MicroPlanet Gravity that will allow your
posting to be quoted upon reply? I am not sure what is special about your
posts, but if I replay to them, they don't quote (using Outlook Express on
my part does not help any I am sure). When I use Agent I can respond fine,
but not with other readers. For an example, notice below that your post is
not quoted (i.e. with a '>'). Normally most posts are upon reply. I have
noticed that when Bob replies to you, he has the same problem with his
reader not quoting your posts (I also note that Bob is using Outlook
Express).

Why would he break his streak here? Besides, I saw a troll post of his on
alt.cellular.verizon- I guess we're not entertaining enough any more.

I'll look into it, Tom. OE is so hackneyed and proprietary=20
I try to stay away from it, myself. I'd rather use Google=20
Groups than OE for newsgroups.
I'll try some experiments over in alt.test and see what I=20

I see that the churn numbers for 3Q2003 reflect that the GSM carriers
have an equal or higher churn than SPCS.
If dslguru were equitable he'd be posting "How to leave Cingular" and
"How to leave AT&T Wireless", also.

I am limitted by this PC's constraints and the software I can put on it.
The other computer I use has Agent, which works much more nicely.

He has debated some people over in the Tivo group that are not so happy with
him either and there is direct reference to his name lycanthropy.

Mozilla Thunderbird is fast, easy-to-use, and not published by Microsoft.
Does both mail and news IIRC.

THe key part of that is 'if he were equitable'. It'll never happen.

I got the same results here at home, Tom. I fixed it with=20
an OE plug-in called "OE-Quotefix."
http://home.in.tum.de/~jain/software/oe-quotefix/
Obviously, if you're constrained in installing software,=20
then that's probably not an option. To me, though, that=20
points a pretty clear finger at OE, not Gravity.

Hey, it looks like it works alright. It is a clunky implementation, but it
works.
