Does anyone know how to make an entry in the phonebook with multiple
numbers .. assign one or the other numbers as a default/promary ?
For instance,my freind 'joe' has a cell phone and a house phone, like most
normal people - And I have both under his entry.
I want his cell phone number to be the one called when I call him from the
phonebook,as it did when I pnly had his cell phone # entered, but every
since I entered the home phone,it now calls that .. And to call the cell,I
have to go through a few extra steps.
I've tried highlighting the # then options, but I see no option that covers
    what I want to do.

Try deleting the cell number and programming it back in again. The 4500
was funny with the options thing too.

On the 4900, you cant set the priorty order, but just set up 2 entries:
"joe cell" and "joe home" locations and you get what you want. you can then
speed dial either one as well if you need to.

That blows. My last 2 phones could set priority.
I think I'll try just listing the # I want it to default as the home phone
instead of the cell, since it seems to want to call anything listed as
    'home' first.
If that don't work, your suggestion seems about the only option.
As far as speed dial,I can never remember which # to press for who.

If you store multiple numbers under one name in the phonebook you can easily
choose which one you want to call from the phonebook menu.

    Press Phonebook
Scroll down to the desired name
Then press left or right to change to (M) Mobile of (H) Home.

When you set speed dials you can choose which one you want it too call.

The above works with the 5300. Seems like it's a feature for most, if not
    all Sanyos.

    Thats the ticket - Almost.
I can change it from m to h,but can't get it to stay.
I've tried just pressing end, then I tried pressing ok,then options.
none of them seem to get the m to stay default - It always goes back to h.

Yes, you have to do that everytime you call. Home and work both always seem
to override mobile on mine. A slight pain but not too bad.

Yeah thats true but .. I've never been a big fan of voice dial.
It seems to work only in the quietest of places, and I feel like chucking
the phone against a wall when it asks me to repeat.

Have you tried creating a voice dial in any condition than a quiet
    background?

I very seldom get a repeat request, Jes. I use mine all the
time...and seldom in a quiet environment.

I did find out that it doesn't just look for the pronunciation of the
word. The voice is important, too. For instance, my wife needs to
put in her own commands...for the very same numbers.

So...you might try redoing some of them. Maybe the background
noise...or you having a cold at the time, etc...has something to do
    with it.

It sure beats dialing...when traveling on the e-way.
