New promotions are now showing on the SprintPCS web site. SMS is not one
    of them. In discussing messaging:

    http://www.sprintpcs.com/common/popu...Messaging.html

    says zero about SMS.

With Sprint employees threatening that after the rollout date SMS will
be $5 a month, but free if you're grandfathered in to Vision,
knowing that date might be useful.

    so the question is:

When is the official start date for system wide promoted SMS on the
    SprintPCS Network?

    Threatening?

All the brochures show that 100 SMS messages are included with Vision.
If you want more than this, then you either pay your 5 bucks, or pay per
message. There is no "grandfathering," nor is there any "threatening" here.

    A) Nothing is on line at Sprint PCS web site.

    B) According to your friend Rob J Vargas, just last week, there is
grandfathering of free unlimited SMS for folks that had Vision when SMS
was introduced. So which one of you is wrong??

It's a bit more complicated than that. Receiving messages from other
SPCS customers will be free. Sending *to* them, will not.

And Vision customers who are active prior to the launch date (and keep
that very same Vision package) will be grandfathered with unlimited
    messaging.

I need to stress that. You *must* keep the exact same Vision pack. The
very one you had prior to SMS rollout. Change it in any way (i.e. to
add RL service), and now your paying for SMS if you want it unlimited.

I just checked my usage and it shows UNLIMITED Wireless Web messages
(although I do have Vision and a Camera phone)

I'm not sure which those are? SMS are called SMS.

Currently at Sprint, text messages, SMS, are called Wireless Web
    messages.
