This is, as far as I know, impossible on all providers (and not
possible on sprint, I checked the google archive.)
My problem is thus: I do some political-like activism in two states
(Ohio and New Jersey.) For reasons that I do and simultaneously do not
understand, media people do not respond if you give them a phone
number in a completely different state. A friend of mine said that
journalists always look for the local angle, and they want you in
state, even if you are just driving by on the NJ turnpike. (On an
incidental note, I'm starting to split my time between both states.)
So an 1-800 number doesn't work. I actually don't need to have both
numbers ring into the phone, it would be ok to have an NJ number ring
into a vmail, and I check it periodically. In a perfect world,
however, I would have multiple numbers ring into one phone.
Other than getting a second phone, with a second plan, and forwarding
that number, are there any other solutions?

What I did to have several local telephone numbers forward to my mobile
telephone was order a local telephone number and have it terminated at
an answeribg service and at a local motel, then call forward the
numbers to my mobile phone number. I offered $5 a month to an them to
just let me have a telephoneless jack at their location. Phone company
charged me $12 a month for each local number.

http://www.pecmobiledata.co.uk/acata...orola_125.html
shows a gizmo to allow using two SIM cards in a GSM phone.

I setup an account with VoiceNation (www.voicenation.com). They gave me
a local telephone number (they have 800 numbers available) which rings
to voice mail. For a little more, they will email you the message as a
WAV attachment, which I have set my Outlook to recognized and send a
notification email to my SprintPCS phone. For a little more money, they
will add your cell phone (and others) to a hunt group. So someone calls
the VoiceNation line, it rings your cell, then your home or office, and
then goes to VN voicemail...
