Does anyone have this phone? Is it any good.
Can I use this, with the futuredial software and cable, to connect my laptop
to the net when I'm out and about and no wifi available for my laptop?
Thanks in advance.

I contacted Futuredial about 2 weeks ago and they said they don't have the data cables for the Nokia yet. The phone has good RF and audio quality. The camera quality is very good for such a small phone. The only downside is the battery life is pathetic!

I know that phone has a built in FM radio. Does it's
use affect battery life significantly?

Thanks. Battery life is not a question for me as long as you can have it
plugged into a charger while using it as a modem to connect to the laptop.
The phone that I'm using now is a Kyocera 2345. When I use it as a modem
for my laptop, I have to stop before the battery dies. This phone cannot be
charged while the data cable is connected. Sucks.

I had it out fo the box for all of two hours. It was enough to convince
me that I hated it. Sound quality was poor, tons of truly useless
features that detracted from simple voice and data, the screen was of a
poor design, and unfortunately, Nokia seems to have forgotten how to
make a phone with good ergonomics.

Not 100% sure about the cable, but some people did try out the IR port
to see if it could be used for Vision access. It could not... there
appears to be something in the firmware that disabled that capability
and shut down any such connection shortly after it was established.

SMS, RF and speaker are strong. Ringer volume is good. If you have an IR
port on your computer, you can move phonebook entries. Screen is ok.
Camera is ok. Battery life is weak, browser is weak. You should try the
buttons before buying - it's a feh or hate it layout.

Thank you ALL for your input.
I have decided to stay away from this kind of phone.
BTW, I am in the Verizon newsgroup trying to ask questions there on Verizon
plans.
