    Hello Sprint Gurus
I have the Sanyo 6400 and a Zire 72 handheld. If I get this cable
    http://makeashorterlink.com/?R111217D8
What will I be able to do with it? Will it be like when I used to use my
Sanyo 6000 as a modem? I hear people saying that Sprint is still allowing
it as long as it's use is limited.
What will having this cable do for me? Sorry to be so vague but someone
just gave me the Zire 72 so I don't know much about it's capabilities let
alone what it can do in conjunction with my Sanyo 6400. I know it goes
along better with a bluetooth enabled phone but I'm not ready for a new
    phone right now.
    Any clues are appreciated.
    Bill

In theory, yes. I say "in theory" because of what you say below:

It's hard to gauge how aggressively Sprint enforces that policy. But,
the officially policy is that it's not allowed. So while I *can* tell
you that what you want to do is technically feasible, and that others
have actually done it with success, it has to be qualified with "but
    it's not allowed."

I'd have to say I don't know much about the Zire either; I use a
Tungsten T3. But I would imagine that Zire can connect to modems and
data devices in a similar way to the Tungsten series.

    Hi Bill,

Paul from palmOne here. I'm not well-versed on third-party equipment,
though I noticed that you said you had a Zire 72. The link you
provided for the cable says "Supports all Palm Tungsten T, Tungsten
T2, Tungsten T3, Tungsten C, Tungsten W, and Zire 71 series PDAs". The
Zire 72 is not mentioned here. Just wanted to point that out to you
    before you made your purchase.

Yes, the Zire 72 can connect to modems.
Let me give you a link that may be helpful to you:

Good start page, with many useful links, including the Getting Started
    Guide and
User Manual (right side of page), free to download.

Hope that helps, enjoy your new Zire.

    Best

    Paul
