Just out of curiosity, would it be possible to activate a LG
    VX-6000 for SPCS service?
This tri-mode dual band phone is normally for CDMA/AMPS
    service with Verizon. ---J.P.

No, I do not believe they will activate it. However, there is a model
very close to that phone that Sprint PCS does already sell.
Unfortunately, I don't have access to a browser to indicate which it is.

BTW -- the VX-6000 can NOT do AMPS. If you like the performance of that
phone, you would do well with the Audiovox 8900, as it has the same
chipset as the VX-6000 except that it is AMPS capable as well.

    Thanks for that Sanyo-8900 info.
Yes, I'll have to take a closer look at that phone.
Interestingly, Verizon's Web site indicates that the
    LG-VX6000 is a tri-mode, dual-band, so I assumed that also
meant AMPS was included. No big deal.

    I just replaced my wife's Samsung 6100 add-a-phone with a
    LG-5225; a dual-mode, dual-band, no AMPS.
She sure likes it and calls it "nifty".
I noticed that although it has only an internal antenna,
it's similar in receive sensitivity as the later Sanyo
"8000" series. I may even end up switching over to that one
    for myself as a replacement.
    Thanks again. ---J.P.
