There are the same type of posts on the verizon newsgroup. No cellular
service is perfect. Please do not feed this troll.

    Like who?

    Nehmo?

He's whininng that you can't get 7pm nights with the new Fair and Flexible
plan. Read the brochure - you most certainly can, for $5/month, just like any
    other plan Sprint offers.

    And who else is complaining?

Basically Christopher F(ool). Notice he still hasn't switched over to
    his much valued Verizon.

Probably can't pass the credit check. Or maybe he did start reading about
the degradation of service people are complaining about over at VZW.

Good one. I do remember when SprintPCS was allowing illegal immigrants
to connect cell phones without an iota of real information, and no deposit.
Fortunately Verizon has always had a stricter credit check and verification
system. No wonder SprintPCS has so many low lives.

Hardly. Verizon is the best network bar none -- when Sprint roams, it goes
    to Verizon.

They've certainly got good coverage in many places. Of course, there are places
where coverage sucks ass too (documented several times, go check
alt.cellular.verizon for complaints about Minnesota and Oregon on google
groups) where Sprint's actually better. And here, their coverage is good but
they don't fix the network when it breaks, which is why I dumped them. (And as
a bonus, Sprint works at my house. Verizon doesn't.)

Who in the world told you that????

Among wrong above statements (both are) Veerizon is far from the better
network. Bigger maybe but better, I (and a whole lot of other people) don't
    think so.

Yes and no. Depends where you are. In some places Sprint PCS' network
is bigger. I have a little trouble with verizon's advertising line of
"most reliable network". I don't think that Sprint PCS' network is any
less reliable then verizon. Everywhere around here that Sprint PCS says
they have coverage, the phone works. Just exactly what is verizon's
    definition of reliable?

Oh? Is that why Verizon changed their PRLs in the MD, WV & VA regions on the
American Plan, so that their customers wouldn't be able call / roam on
SPCS's system. Verizon users were using SPCS, instead of Verizon's signal as
SPCS offered a far stronger signal than Verizon did and Verizon was paying
SPCS a ton of loot in roaming fees.

I use to think that Verizon offered as good or a touch better signal than
SPCS in the past, but no more. Friends in my area who have ... or had
Verizon, all *****ed about dropped calls, not just inside their homes but
outside as well. Half of them have changed their service and the other half
will as soon as their contracts expire.

As for who you get connected to when SPCS customers roams, it could be
Verizon, or any number of other providers, depending on the roaming
agreement set up for that specific area.

-->Wash DC seems to use Cingular for the roaming.
At least it does for me. ( prl 10023 )

How could it use Cingular? I thought that Cingular is GSM and that SprintPCS
is CDMA and therefore the phones are incompatible. Please elaborate. Do you
have a special phone that supports GSM and CDMA?

No they don't- they are obviously willing to put you on the network.

Soon to be one less if you follow through on your promise.

According to who? Verizon? That little opinionated and biased website you
mentioned in your other thread? Funny- they never show as the best overall
network in any independent surveys. And the number of complaints of network
overload and slowness to react to network problems continue to grow. But I
don't expect you to listen to any of that- I am picturing you right now
with your eyes squinted shut, hands over your ears saying, "I can't hear
    you, I can't hear you."

Have fun with VZW- let us know who your new carrier will be when the entire
operation implodes within the next few years.

Bob, he was talking about Sprint phones roaming on Verizon, not the other way
    around.
