    Greetings,

My 2-year retention contract is up in 3 weeks.

What will happen if I don't renew?

Should I ask to keep the current deal?

Should I ask for a better deal?

My wife is using an old Sanyo 4900, and my daughter is using a new RL4920. Both might
like to upgrade to camera phones. What service is required to transmit images from phone
    to phone?

I am using a Treo 600. I am of the opinion that I have too many T600 accessories to make
it worthwhile to upgrade to a T650. But if they handed me a new T650 I might try to eBay
my T600 and use the proceeds to buy new accessories. I guess that's a bit of a reach,
    though.

I'll conclude by showing you my retention deal from 2003. You can see my original post on
    the matter at...

A standard F & F family plan might save you some money.
If you can get them to give you a new plan that keeps your FIMF(I did),
starts your evening minutes at 7pm, and also gives you free vision and PCS
to PCS, then that would be a good retention plan, though some people on here
will undoubtedly somehow manage to do better.
They will usually give you a $150 rebate if you have had a phone for at
    least 18 mo.

Why would you sign up for 2 more years?
    not a good idea

If you don't renew the current plans will continue as they are.
I don't think you'll be offered anything better than what you have now,
but it never hurts to ask.

So my plans remain decently competitive, 2 years later?

Possibly, unless something else looks better to you. Just keep in mind that
SPCS will not change anything about your current plan while you maintain
    service after the agreement expires.

It looks like your paying $100 for 1350 minutes

    A F&FF plan for 3 phones should be $80 for 800 minutes, $100 for 1300 min,
    $105 for 1500min.
They should give you a 5% discount for being a good customer, or signing up
    for 2 yrs.
So, with the F&FF plan you will save money on months that you don't max out
to the 1350 minutes you have now, plus you have the slight advantage of
sharing minutes, so if one of you have a real busy calling month you won't
have to worry about going over the individual plan limit and getting billed
for those extra 40-cent minutes. The billing shows the individual phone
usage, so you can see who is using the minutes.

One other benefit to add to Floyd's post is that you can add the F&C America
option to the plan for $5, so that all the phones on the account can roam,
if necessary at no additional charge.
