I have a Kyocera 2255. I currently have a web alert on my phone. Is there
anyway to get rid of it without using the browser to see what it is. I
don't know anyone who would send me anything and I'm afraid it could be a
virus. I have never accessed the web using my phone and don't subscribe to
    any sprint web services.

    Thanks,
    Sherry

I don't believe there are any viruses that could affect a Kyocera 2255.
They're written to affect much more complex phones. Reading this
message is harmless to your 2255.

Anyway, page 24 of your manual shows that under the 2255's Messages menu
are various settings about various kinds of messages. Maybe there's one
that will erase the alert (unless the Sprint PCS system keeps sending a
    reminder until read).

It can't be, as far as I know. Cell viruses have hit Bluetooth-equipped phones
and phones running the Symbian operating system. I am a previous owner of a
couple 2255s and can confirm that the 2255 doesn't run Symbian or use Bluetooth.

Keep in mind that you will be charged for accessing the web.
