I've been operating a Samsung SPH-A460 flip phone for quite some time
and others before that on SPCS. What I'm wondering is whether Sprint
offers a service where I could stop in and have them download my stored
dialing numbers and maybe save them on a floppy or cd. Reason I ask is I
have over 75 entries, many with several different numbers in them.
Sometime before this phone, I dropped a phone on a rainy day and the LCD
display went out and never came back. Had to dig around and reenter as
many numbers as I could find manually, and with over a hundred numbers,
you can't remember many of them. Some numbers get entered on the fly as
new business contacts develop.
I know software and cables might be available for many models to do this
yourself, but that's an expense I would rather avoid and if I change
phones you usually have to get a diffrent cable to do that. I think as a
marketing tool at least, SPCS should offer such a service where they
store your speed dial number entries whenever you wish, maybe just
charging a small fee for the floppy or cd.
Anything out there?

See if your phone is supported on this site, if so you can order this and do
it yorself anytime you need to. When my N400 crapped out Sprint backed up my
data and popped it into the new phone but you can't ask them to do this all
the time.

Best Buy sells that particular software package too (in case you want it
right NOW)

You can get ANY cable on Ebay for less than $20 shipped... usually much less
(I just got a data cable for Motorola I830 series for $7 shipped). Even
buying a new phone every 6 months, a $20 investment is nothing and you'd
likely spend that much on a service if Sprint offered it.

Re: Wondering if SPCS could d/l my stored numbers
I always thought Sprint can do a "phone book swap" from an old phone to a
new phone.. I don't think they charge for that... I've never personally
had that done... I believe they still do it, though..
