I always wanted to get a phone that "slides" open.
I remember seeing a Samsung one late last year, so thats one reason I
waited to update my plan (see my previous post).
I called retention today, and they have a good deal out there now.
But I only want to do a 1 year agreement, and thats only $75 off.
The only sliding phone I see (on the website) is the samsung MAA-80 (?)
And thats $499!!
The one I saw (I thought) was only 299.
Is that the same phone?
How long before the phone will drop in price?
Thanks

Try looking at the LG - 325. Good phone, per what my daughter tells me.

Nice!
I didnt know there was another sliding phone offered.
I will look into it.
I still like the Samsung, because I think it looks VERY nice, and I
have the Samsung 8500 since it came out (5 years now?) so I "trust" the
brand.
Anyone know LG's reputation?
Thanks!

Well, you are use to Samsungs, and that good, but there are other good
manufacturers. As for LG, it's reputation is pretty good, for what I know.
Lots of us also praise Sanyos. In fact, there are quite a few of former
Samsung 3500 & 8500 users who now use and praise Sanyos as they seem to work
better in the fringe coverage areas.
It's all a crapshoot, as every, and I stress every manufacturer puts out
some excellent models and some models that don't work out so well.

Thats true, actually quality even varies among the same model.
I remember when I first got the Samsung 8500 (black model) after 2
days, I dropped the phone, and it stopped working.
I got the Silver one, and it has lasted about 5 years now, I've dropped
it many times, and its still going strong.

Well, as I mentioned and others have here, there can be a few bad phones, or
batches of phones in a certain model. My daughter hasn't complained to yours
truly about her 325, since we bought it 10 months ago.
