I still see a lot of dropped calls

I had sprint until today. The only thing I liked about sprint is "Dropped
Call"

I simply dialed *2 and said "dropped call" and I would get a 50 cent
credit. This is what everyone should do when they get a dropped call. After
Sprint got a ton of these call they might do something about the dropped
calls. Hell I got around 20 bucks a month credit on my bill.

That is $240 a year!!! So start calling *2 and saying "dropped call"

I am going with Cingular. I know it is like jumping out of the fring pan
and into the fire. Verizon is my only alt., but they do not have very
good coverage here in the south east.

Which city are you in? I'm in the Tampa, FL area. I've been thinking
about Cingular too - those rollover minutes are a nice feature.

The hp6515 is comming out soon!

This will replace the old laptop! 150k download speeds, wifi, usb1.1 sd
men card, Pcoket PC software. Even if I have to start with a regular
phone and data connect via bluetooth. That makes sprint look like they
are standing still!

have save 150.00 bucks last month from over min chgs.

Oh I was in LA this past week and could not make a call for several
hours.

got the *2 to work after a while and guess what 30 min wait on hold to
get the same old song and dance.

Remember get free .50 cent for a dropped call by dialing *2 and saying
dropped call.

And there are no other new phones or smartphones on the horizon? By
golly I thought some were even coming out with WM5, not non-upgradeable
WM 2003 Second Edition.

Be careful using a word like "will" on a device you haven't yet used,
let alone own. For instance, you might find out it doesn't actually have
built-in Wi-Fi. Then you might wonder why you need a third-party app
just to do photo-caller-ID. Or you might be a little surprised at the
240 x 240 display (that was the deal-killer for me, even though I did
like the GPS).

Doesn't mean you won't like it. But somehow the hyperbole seems to die
down after the honeymoon's over.

Not exactly standing still. For one thing, "150k download speeds" was a
best-case scenario using a laptop and a PC-Card as the connection device
(and, apparently, not many other users on the tower). Reviews of the
6515 I've read indicate a much more realistic rate of around 100 Kbps.

BTW, heard about EV-DO yet? If so, any idea how that stacks up against
EDGE?

Oh my gawd, you're talking about John Navas, right? BWAAAAAAAAA!!!!

I briefly considered Cingular a few weeks ago (and there was NO way they
could come close to matching what I'm paying now--and that includes
unlimited data on three phones, one of which is a PDA-phone).

But I hadn't considered the downside of having John around in the
Cingular NG. What a drag that would have been.

And when you do get that PDA, and get a proper plan for it, that $150
will be like chump change. But it was nice of you to ignore SPCS F&F
plans, which would likewise have avoided extraordinary overages. Now if
you come back and say that you're on a retention deal that no F&F plan
can touch... well... neither will Cingular.

No carrier is perfect. But you are seemingly building yourself up for a
let-down. The Cingular NG isn't exactly devoid of complaints.

With Putty for unix and Term. Client for windows I can remote in my
machines securely. well at least the unix boxes with ssh2

100k is plenty for SSH a little slow with term service. I have read only
1 review from a "real" user so far and it is non-techinal.

Only in big cities. I can use edge almost every where there is coverage.
That is lots of places that I get AMPS only with sprint. No digital
services like voice message notice.

I would have to sign up for 2 more years of sprints lack luster coverage
in my area. (Unless you call amps coverage)

I have talked to people that use cingular and asked the right questions
like "dropped calls?""dead areas" etc... and sprint can not match the
coverage.(not even close) You must be in a large city where everyone has
towers everywhere. Rural areas sprint relies on roaming and your digtal
service disappears with it.
