If I get a cable to connect my pocket PC to my A500... what else would
I need to browse the web on my pocket pc?
Would I need an ISP? I would assume I would..... and could anybody
recommend the cheapest ISP in the Northeast that doesn't require
proprietary software to access?
Thanks

Not possible. The A500 has a USB interface, and there is no driver for
the Pocket PC at this time.

TheSupplynet.com is currently making cables to have this work.

They keep getting delayed, I doubt most of them will ever be released.
Heck, the A500 is already obsoleted by Sprint.

I'm inclined to agree. For one thing neither the phone nor the PPC (nearly
all of them, that is) are USB Hosts. That means the "cable" would have to be
somewhat intelligent, and a rather neat engineering trick at that.
I would like to see them actually produce it, if possible (assuming they
figure out the USB issue). Once they get one working, it shouldn't be that
hard to make models for other phones.
Regardless, I don't think this product will see the light of day...

That's not true, there are many MANY Pocket PC's that have a USB host
port today. Casio, Toshiba, and ViewSonic all make Pocket PCs that
have a USB host port, usually though an adapter. The most noteable
PDA's with USB host ports are the e330/e350 (though a simple cable) and
e740/e750 series PDA's (through a snap-on attachment ot the sync port
that provides a USB port and VGA-out) that are from Toshiba.

Casio is about out of the PPC game, and I don't count adapters. It either
works with a cable directly or it doesn't.
I stand by my comment that virtually no PPCs have USB host. In addition, the
largest-selling of all PPCs, HP iPaqs, don't have it on any model.
Exactly what PPCs were TheSupplyNet supposed to release a cable for?
