Anyone every tried this?
Buy new phone, get new service, new number.
Go into SprintPCS store and ask them to swap numbers on the phones.
Cancel service on old phone after some time?
In the end you get the old number on the new phone. Would this work?
Would there be a service charge for the number swap? Would the
cancellation be held up?

Re: number change possibility
I believe if you try to cancel the new service as per the 14 day trial you
have to return all equipment as well.
Could be wrong though.

Yup, and the new line would be on contract, so later wouldn't work
either.

Re: number change possibility
You may do better than I, but I couldn't even get them to change numbers
on the two phones I had--there was no equipment return issue. total
blocked wall when tried--worked out another solution, thank goodness.

Re: number change possibility
Because someone cancels service within the 14 day trial period,
they would not have to return the phone to RadioShack, Best Buy, e-bay,
their brother, or wherever.

Probably not, but then they'd owe Radio Shack, et al for the instant=20
rebate.

Re: number change possibility
My girlfriend actually did this...
She added a line for her daughter with a new phone (Samsung A-500),
after about a month and a half of her daughter abusing the minutes, she
dropped the line, and had her number switched to the new phone. So, it
IS possible with the add-a-line option.

Re: number change possibility
You're probably right, my phones were not add a line accounts, but were
seperate. That may have been the problem I had getting a change.
