Flip phones vs. Candy Bar Phones

Come on, Tom. Don't get on the pissing wagon.

We know no one "produces" phones. Scott used that term
to mean "manufacture," so, rather than correcting him
and possibly starting another argument, I also used
"produce."

My implication was that Sprint uses phones manufactured
by other companies... They don't do any manufacturing,
themselves.

My last two phones have been flip phones, but I'm still not convinced
they're better.

The most annoying thing to me is that flip phones creak when they're next to
your ear. I've got an LG 5350, and the last one was a Motorola Startac.
It's not awful, but it's enough to be annoying.

In theory, if I had a choice between two phones with exactly the same
features, I'd buy the candy bar. In practice, I just buy the phone with the
best feature set (reception/voice quality/software/etc) ignoring whether
it's flip or not. Lately, it's been flip phones.

And for the sake of this thread it is irrelevant and should not have even
been mentioned in the first place. It was clear he was talking about phones
available for Sprint.

Frequently, threads go off on tangents that have nothing to do

The off topic was an intent [by Scott] to nitpick the poster [Brandt] for
saying "produced". It is the same thing as picking on somebody because they
mi*****ed a word. It sounds to me like somebody was feeling ornry when they
picked on him for saying "produced" and all the other ogres came out of
their caves.

I prefer the flip and the clamshell phones.
It's nice to not having to "lock" the keys as one must do
with a candybar-type phone.
When open and being used, they "feel" better in my hand; I
don't like to hold a phone by my fingertips. ---John
