Hi,
I just added the option of unlimited Sprint PCS to Sprint PCS
calling. My question is if I got a call FROM a Sprint PCS phone am I
charged minutes? Does this plan cover calls TO and FROM my phone, or
only my phone if I initiate the call??
Thanks, Ace

To and from.
As long as your phone is communicating with another Sprint phone,
you won't be charged any minutes.

Oh, and not roaming. If you roam, PCS to PCS doesn't count, either.
Seems obvious, but worth mentioning.

It also does not include getting your voicemail.

Re: Unlimited PCS to PCS Plan Question ??
Slightly off-topic, but this raises a question: Since carriers offer
these plans that promote PCS-PCS calls, I have to conclude that
network bandwidth is not a problem and that landline connections are
(relatively) cost-drivers. Is that borne out by the facts?

I'm not sure that network bandwidth *isn't* a problem...
I ten to think it boils down to the almighty dollar... Free PCS-PCS
means you'll encorage friends/family to also use Sprint. More
subscribers, more money, etc.

For those of you *****ing fanatics (and I'm one!), sorry for
the errors... Fingers typing faster than the brain... Or is
it the other way around?

Yes, any calls connecting to other Sprint PCS phones will go towards the
PCS-PCS bucket of minutes.

That is because voicemail is not hosted on a Sprint PCS phone

Re: Unlimited PCS to PCS Plan Question ??
thats exactly what it boils down to. No matter what the phone has to
communicate with the ground, so it costs sprint the same no matter who
you call.

The plan covers calls to OR from your phone. So if another SPCS users
call you from their Sprint PCS phone, it comes out of your unlimited
PCS2PCS bucket.

Not really.
Remember, you're paying (in most cases) for this unlimited PCS2PCS
bucket. At ths point, Sprint probably figures that $5 a month per each
person that signs up for this is enough revenue to recover the cost of
in-network calls. Furthermore, the fact that you may entice other
people to sign up for Sprint so that you can take advantage of unlimited
PCS2PCS will provide them with additional revenue, further offsetting
their costs.
So yes, calls within the PCS infrastructure still cost something. You
just now have the luxury of paying a flat rate for it instead of having
it eat your minutes.
And yes, calls to a landline phone are of a greater expense to Sprint.

Re: Unlimited PCS to PCS Plan Question ??
Call to a Sprint PCS phone, and Call from a Sprint PCS phone are covered
under the pcs2pcs option. but the calls MUST be placed or recive *ON*
the Sprint PCS Network.. If you are roaming pcs2pcs is not used, this is
also on the new Free & Clear America plans as well.. they only work
while on the Sprint PCS network.
