I know it's dated, but CostCo is selling it REAL cheap ($68). Did
Sprint ever fix the bugs I read about when it first came out? Just
wondering. I need a quick, inexpensive replacement phone.

It is a great, cheap phone. For that price it is a steal. It is 20x
the phone of the $100 Nokia phone sold elsewhere.

I work for SprintPCS,
I DON'T speak for them.

Re: Does anyone like the Samsung A-460?
I would have to disagree with Brandt-My 460 got terrible reception. I
now have a refurbished Sanyo 4700 that gets much better reception and
have reduced drop calls by about 75%.

what???!!!!!!! I do like Samsung phones and I have seen much worse
phones, but I do not believe that it is 20x the phone of the Nokia.
These are two totally different phones, plus some people love the
simplicity that Nokia provides them with. The A460 @ that price is a
steal for sure though

If you get one of the first productiopn batch they are OK (by that I
mean no more failures thatn any other phone). Get one in any other
production batch ten you will experience the unadulterated JOY of
watching your Big internal screen die completely. This is a known issue
and happens frequently. It is the one reason I stay away from the A460.

I can second this assessment. My wife is using the A-460 and absolutely
loves the phone. It works great for her (only one drop and it was a tower
issue and not a phone issue, it has since been fixed). The sound quality on
calls made from her phone has been very good. We have noticed no bugs or
reception problems with this phone.

I know a few people using that phone and not one has complained about screen
trouble, reception trouble or dropped calls.

Re: Does anyone like the Samsung A-460?
The screen issue (exactly as described) manifested itself on one of our
three 460's (purchased different dates).... Sprint replaced it about 30 days
ago without any issue. Otherwise, no complaints. BTW the defective phone
was purchased about a year ago and just went bad last month.

One was early October or late September 2002. My Wife's was last March. I
don't know about the third.

Re: Does anyone like the Samsung A-460?
Your phones are first production batch. They should be OK. Anything
made in 2003 will exibit the LCD failures being statistically higher.

We bought my Wife's in March 2003, it could very well be 2003 production.
So far no trouble at all (it is so rarely ever turned off ... it is charged
a couple of times per week).

If you buy at costco it comes with lifetime guarantee. If anything
happens you get your money back.
