Someone told me that people who all ready have sprint can get the same
deal on a phone. They told me that i didnt have a phone for 18 months
so i was not eligable. My sanyo 5150 was a fru replaced on insurance
for the second time so it canceled out my insurance till march 2004 and
they say my phone is no longer under warranty. So i want the vga 1000
but do not wanna pay $250.. i would sign on anouther 2 years to save
the 150 but there not letting me do that saying they will just credit my
bill $100 if a sign on for 2 years..
I am not currently under agreement, what should i do..
BTW i work fro verizon wireless and get the plans cheap but there phone
blow chunks, and i had sprint for like 5 years and my bill is over $100
    every month..

No phone is still under warranty after it's been in service for a
year. Did you speak with CS, or just check out that website link
    posted earlier?

If you had spoken to CS, did you mention that the insurance
    replacement?

tell them you work for Verizon Wireless but that you think Vzw's phones
"blow chunks" ---- they'll probably give you a phone in exchange for putting
your face on advertisements in USA Today along with your story.

told the CS rep that my phone was a fru replacement under warrenty. I
think im just gonna swith over to Verizon on november 24th!

I think im just gonna go to verizion cuz sprint keeps giving me the run
around and i spend $120 there EVERY month for the past 6 years!!!!
ridiculous they will not give me the VGA1000 for $120 if i sign on for 2
years, I guess they dont want to waste $130 ON MY SO I CAN SPEND
$2500.00 IN THE NEXT 2 YEARS!

Phones that replaced under the ins. have a 1 year SPCS warranty on them
from the date that the claim was filed. You said the ins. was cancelled
until March of 04 so your claim had to be in March of 03 so your
warranty is good for 1 year from that date. They can be replaced at a
SPCS store under the warranty at no charge. It does have to be a SPCS
store however. If the store is unwilling to replace it, contact SPCS
customer soulutions at 888 211 4727, and tell them you need to get your
phone replaced under the war. and the store is unwilling to do so.

Re: Whats up w/Sprint and customers wanting to upgrade handsets?

Ok lets see if I can shed some light on this.

You used the ERP twice in the same year correct?
If so, you are not allowed anymore ERP replacements for that year.
And from what I can tell, (from seeing other post), it seems like the
warranty period for ERP handsets have changed. When I was working for
Sprint, (Now Verizon), ERP handsets had 6 month manufacturer warranties,
or the remaining warranty length on the defective handset, which ever
was greater. So if the handset you were returning still had 8 months on
the manf. warranty that how long the warranty is on the replacement..
Now if you had gone in to a Sprint Store or Rat Shack and got the phone
replaced in-store(under manf warranty, not ERP), and they replaced it
with a unopened-still in box, brand new phone, the warranty would be
    another 1 full year.

things could have changed since I left Sprint, but I think they are
    still the same way.

You best bet I would say is go for the $100 credit while you can. then
18 months later you can get another new phone with rebates.

I year from the date of the last claim.

New phones have a 1 yr. warranty. If the phone is defective and
replaced at the SPCS store for the warranty the phone that you recv. as
a replacement will have a 6 months warranty! However if you get the
phone replaced under the insurance program it will have a 1 year
    warranty on it.

That is the gospel, believe me I work with this stuff everyday!

Let me restate how I thought it was..

I thought any NEW equipment had a 1 yr manufacturer warranty.
And Refurb equipment had a 6 month manufacturer warranty or the
remaining warranty of the original equipment, whichever is greater.

I would talk to the tech group and see if they can get Verizon to get the
phone you want from Sprint to work on the Verizon network.
