I have a 3595 and would like to change the ringtone from the stupid
T-mobile one that comes with it, but I don't know how.

Ok, I see USB cables for this phone on ebay, but do you need
special software to transfer them from your computer to the phone,
and can you get software to do it, for free?

And what kind of file formats can the phone use? Wav? Midi? Mp3
maybe?

Where can I get free tones to download without all the teasy stuff
where they say they have free tones but then want you do pay or do
all kinds of other game playing?
