Isn't GSM in USA 850/1900? 1900 will pick up a lot, but I have read that a
most new stuff is 850? (Please correct me if wrong!)

T-Mobile does not have any GSM850 licenses, so a 900/1800/1900 phone will
work just fine on T-Mobile's 1900 MHz network.

Re: Unlocking Nokia 3120b?
I used an online Nokia 'Unlock' calculator. In seconds (and for free), I
had the unlock code that worked with my phone. I can't remember the site at
the moment.

There are some services out there that will, for a modest price, do the job
right guaranteed. I have used these guys and was happy with the result:
http://www.cellularpager.com/unlock.html
This is a brick and mortar establishment in California with a phone they
answer, not some no name no phone no where web site. I sent my phone to
them priority mail, they unlocked it the same day they got it and sent it
right back.
Beats heck out of wasting your time trying to do it yourself at some risk
of screwing things up. I think I paid around $27 with shipping costs
figured in.
